GIANT KILLERS RELEASE ‘WHEN THIS TIME IS OVER’

New Single Out Now

The indie-pop band Giant Killers is back with a brand new single titled “When This Time is Over,” released on 24th May 2024 via Little Genius. This new track follows the January release of their critically acclaimed debut album, *Songs For The Small Places*, which they recorded nearly three decades ago. Despite the long wait, the album has been met with widespread critical acclaim, much to the band’s surprise and delight.

“When This Time is Over” is the first single from the album and will be released digitally across all platforms on Little Genius Recordings. The release is part of a unique Double A-side, Double B-side EP. Notably, a quarter of all proceeds from sales on Bandcamp will be donated to the suicide prevention charity Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM).

Giant Killers consists of the songwriting duo Jamie Wortley (guitar, keys, lead vocals) and Michael Brown (bass, keys, brass, vocals). The band was originally signed to MCA Records in 1995, releasing two singles before their album was shelved indefinitely. Now, having regained the rights to their music, the band is excited to finally bring their long-lost tracks to the public.

In a thrilling announcement, Giant Killers revealed they will be opening the main stage at the Shiiine On Festival this November. Their history includes opening for Blur on the Country House tour, during which Blur poached their original keyboard player after a performance at Cleethorpes Pier. They’ve also toured with Dr. Robert (Blow Monkeys) and Nick Heyward, appeared on Channel 4’s *The Big Breakfast*, performed live on the Patrick Kielty TV show, and were once mistaken for Boyzone due to a limo mix-up for a Capital Radio promo appearance.

Despite the lengthy hiatus, Jamie Wortley and Michael Brown have remained active musicians, participating in various musical projects and gigs. Their extensive history includes performances at Glastonbury, Proms in the Park in Hyde Park opening for Lionel Richie, and tours with Squeeze and Motown legend Edwin Starr. They even enjoyed a brief moment of pop culture fame as a sticker in *Smash Hits* magazine.

Giant Killers are back, ready to reclaim their place in the music world with their heartfelt and enduring songs. Be sure to catch “When This Time is Over” and experience the magic that nearly got lost in time.
