Musical outlier Joey Myron is once again challenging the boundaries of genre with the release of his latest single, “Hoe Down” (feat. Lucky Dog), available now on all streaming platforms. Teaming up with James Shelley and Michel Heyaca – the creators behind AI duo Lucky Dog – to bring fresh sonics to country music, Myron offers a new, genre-bending, Urban Cowboy sound. Fans will get a taste of his musical direction with the release of “Hoe Down, an alternative country tune inspired by line dancing parties where everyone can let loose and have a good time.
“Hoe down invites you to let go of your insecurities and inhibitions and join the Western party,” Myron says. “The inspiration comes from going to a hoe down or line dance where everyone is an equal regardless of background and life circumstance. In “Hoe Down,” dancing becomes a form of religion and escape in searching for higher purpose. ‘Heaven knows why, but this just feel right. Let me show you why…’”
“Hoe Down” fuses the energy of alternative rock with the heart of country, delivering a fresh sonic experience that blends Myron’s signature baritone vocals with his innovative approach to music. The new track is the perfect embodiment of his musical innovation, with its driving rhythms, infectious melodies, and an undeniable party vibe that will have listeners line dancing all night long.
“Hoedown came about really from Joey walking in the room with basically a full chorus already fleshed out. Then wanting to write the rest of the song about it being okay for people to get loose and have no judgment from anyone or anything,” the creators behind AI duo Lucky Dog said.”The production came about after Joey laid down the guitar part and we wanted to make a hard hitting stomp clap hoedown type of song!”
Myron has worked with top producers and writers, including leading DJ/producer Mickey Valen, on his breakout hit “Chills,” which – to date – has amassed over 90 million collective streams. Fans of the original version of “Chills” will soon get the “countryfied” version – Myron will chase “Hoe Down” with the Nashville version of “Chills” in November, giving the hit track a new twist. Taking inspiration from a diverse array of influences, ranging from Johnny Cash and Waylon Jennings to Nina Simone, Frank Sinatra, The Weeknd, and Post Malone, Myron creates music that feels both timeless and current.
