7Descent Drops a cover of “Take On Me”

7Descent has taken the classic ‘Take On Me’ sound and amped it up to level 10. This 80’s tune has been reworked into an energetic, blood-pumping rock song. The heavy electric guitar and drums will make you want to head bang as you belt out the chorus “Take on me / Take me on / I’ll be gone / In a day or two!” Despite the heavy rock feel and sound, 7Descent doesn’t let that instantly recognizable melody vanish. The band does an excellent job of keeping the tunes original charm while giving it that extra female power flair.

7Descent, consisting of four members, is a band that seeks to bring a personalized tone into the Nashville scene. Each member has their own feats and accomplishments that contribute to the band’s style. Influences ranging from metal mixes to opera & 80’s rock, the band hopes to showcase their personal style and unique approach to their music.

Their current band members, are Nova Dawn, Brian Coffey (Bass), Rebecca Dillon (Drums), Ed Taylor (Lead Guitar). Their musical inspirations, such as Judas Black and Greenday, helped build the foundational sound of the band, while also managing to take aspects of themselves and apply that to their singing-songwriting process, helps 7Descent stand out from all of the rest.

Giving a nod to drummer Rebecca Dillon, whose skills brought the song to a whole new level of mastery. Dillon says, “I loved working on this song with the band, it challenged me incorporating double bass.  I loved the outcome”. Very Proud of this work!”
