David Brown is a Blues singer / songwriter from the Bay area of California.
After his high school graduation, David purchased his first guitar after becoming inspired by the John Lennon song, ‘Working Class Hero’.
In 2009, David Brown enlisted into the armed forces and it was whilst on training that he released his first album, ‘Barefoot Remedies’.
David now pursues music as a full time endeavour and draws on personal experiences as inspiration for his lyrics.
In January, he released a five-track EP ‘Wayward Blues & Co.’, which begins with the memorable blues riffs and powerful vocals of ‘Devil Inside of Me’.
‘Leah’ treats us to the soulful sound of brass instruments as David continues to impress with his lyrical stories.
‘Whisky Bottle Blues’ has more of a funky feel to it with some stunning guitar riffs but then transitions into pure soul thanks to the inclusion of brass melodies.
‘These Four Walls’ has more of a rock feel to it, but is also haunting in place and the lyrics are an all to real metaphor for lockdown.
The EP concludes with ‘I’m Comin’ Home’, which, which has a more upbeat and pop feel to it.
David has conjured up powerful lyrics whilst also presenting us with a multitude of catchy instrumentals from varying genres for the EP.
