Berklee School of Music graduate Lily Williams has revealed her latest single ‘I’ve Been Thinking’.
On the track, the UK-native singer-songwriter and pianist commands a voice and cadence that is, for the most part, effortlessly ethereal and soft. On occasion, she adopts a coarse and breathy style which exudes a tone that is as down-to-earth as the lyrics.
Listen below.
As with her previous single ‘Maybe’, ‘I’ve Been Thinking’ combines jazz and pop with authentic vocals and lyricism to produce a track that, while vaguely reminiscent in style to that of Norah Jones, is a welcomed breath of fresh air.
The lyrics on ‘I’ve Been Thinking’ are almost painfully relatable and ever so slightly self-deprecating with Williams opting to open the track with the lines: “You’ll find somebody if you wait a week or two, who’s just as special as you say I am. She’ll be prettier and funnier, too.
‘I’ve Been Thinking’ is now available to stream and download across all platforms.
