Quiero Bailar: A New Latin Tech House Track by Tantok Featuring Alejandra Guerra

On 16 August 2024, the electronic music scene witnessed the release of “Quiero Bailar,” a Latin-inspired tech house track by Tantok, featuring vocals by Alejandra Guerra. Released under the labels Enormous Tunes and No Definition, this track marks a significant milestone in Tantok‘s evolving career.

“Quiero Bailar” is a high-energy composition that merges the rhythms and melodies of Latin music with the driving beats of tech house. The track is designed to evoke the atmosphere of a lively party, reminiscent of the vibrant energy found on a party boat in Ibiza. With its pulsating rhythms and euphoric melodies, “Quiero Bailar” transports listeners to a sonic state of celebration and dance.

The creation of “Quiero Bailar” began after Tantok watched a short tutorial on tech house production by John Summit. Inspired by the idea of infusing his music with a Latin flavour, Tantok searched for suitable trumpet samples, eventually finding one in C melodic minor. After transposing the sample to G melodic minor, the foundation of the track was set. The lyrics, written in Spanish, were a collaborative effort between Tantok and Alejandra Guerra, with Tantok penning the chorus and Guerra contributing the verse. The track’s instrumentation includes synthesizers, trumpet samples, and vocal lines, all carefully arranged to create a cohesive and dynamic sound.

Reflecting on the creative process, Tantok shares, “I wanted ‘Quiero Bailar’ to feel like a celebration of both music and culture. The idea was to bring people into a lively, carefree atmosphere, much like a party in the heart of Ibiza.”

The story behind “Quiero Bailar” reflects Tantok’s deep appreciation for Latin culture and his personal journey of learning Spanish during the Covid-19 pandemic. While working at Winter Park Resort in 2020, Tantok spent his downtime studying Spanish on Duolingo, a skill that would later influence his music production. “Quiero Bailar” represents Tantok‘s first venture into creating music in Spanish, a significant step toward his goal of producing multilingual tracks.

“Quiero Bailar” is more than just a track; it’s a reflection of Tantok‘s growth as an artist and his connection to Latin culture. As he prepares for upcoming performances, including a headline show at Larimer Lounge in Denver, Tantok continues to explore new musical territories. With “Quiero Bailar,” he has added another layer to his diverse musical portfolio, marking a significant chapter in his evolving career.
