The world famous Tony Williams is a man of many faces, but broadly based in the music industry. He is a songwriter, singer and record producer. His relationship with Kanye West goes beyond family (he is Kanye’s first cousin) to a professional collaborative hit making duo ever since Kanye dropped his first album, College dropout in 2004. Tony Williams is credited with lending vocals to numerous tracks off his first cousin’s album. He has also been featured in a host of successful hip hop albums by Jay Z, Rick Ross and Nas. His collaborative means have seen him tour with Kanye all over the globe, including during the Milwaukee to Melbourne tour in 2013.
On the 2013 tour, The world famous Tony Williams got another opportunity to produce and perform alongside the iconic Grammy award winner rapper, Kanye west. The multi-talented Tony Williams has gone on to create a name for himself through his debut album that was launched on valentines day in 2012. He launched his first mainstream recording through a mix tape dubbed “The world famous Tony Williams Finding Dakota Grey”. The mix tape was a collection of original music, covers and remixes, including a remix to “dreaming of your love” originally produced in 2012 by Kanye West.
Tony developed his love for music at an early age since both of his parents had musical backgrounds. He was introduced to the Saxophone at at the tender age of 8 years. Just like most r & b greats he too got to hone his skills in the church choir. In high school, he played in the marching parade all throughout his tenth grade. After high school, he was a lead vocalist in a number of bands with diverse styles ranging from Christian alternative, rock to funk. Tony Williams is a great vocalist representing one of the most respected voices in hip hop currently.
He is still working with Kanye offering his songwriting and vocal skills to his recording and tours. Currently, Tony Williams is working on an album which is slated to be released anytime soon, probably in the first few months of 2015. He is also concurrently working on a mix tape project, some of my best rappers are friends, volume II. He says the mix tape is inspired by the song he grew up listening to, a reason it is subtitled as 70’s boy. It is in 2007 that he first used the term “the world famous” as a prefix to his name –it was to differentiate himself with a drummer who goes by the same name.
He has enjoyed substantial success in Brazil, through a rendition of his own songs done in Portugese. Also, he has previously had chart success in France through his music. Surprisingly, he does not listen to much music and is a sports buff. Although, he has a collection of some of the old records, especially soul music done during the 70’s period. The world famous Tony Williams has participated in 5 of Kanye studio albums and countless tour. Tony lives in Dallas, TX and will be performing at the life is beautiful fest in Las Vegas with Kanye West on October 24th.
Tony Williams is a muti-talented artist with so much potential, maybe its time the world really had a taste of his world class talent in his upcoming album slated for the near future.
