Today, Troy Javelona has unveiled his latest EP ‘For You’. With six tracks bursting with his alternative R&B flair, ‘For You’ is an incredibly impressive release from the independent artist. Coming off the back of his latest two-track EP, ‘Call Me’, Troy Javelona is set to make waves with this latest body of work. After starting a TikTok frenzy with his track ‘Go Away’, the viral sensation has been steadily securing his status as an important act to watch in the UK alt-R&B scene. Whilst racking up over four million Spotify streams and garnering an ever-expanding fanbase, Troy Javelona’s discography has been going from strength to strength which each release. And ‘For You’ is no different.
From the infectiously catchy opener ‘Call Me’ to the smooth, slow-jam energy of ‘Letting Go’, Troy explores delves into every aspect of love. His direct, open and vulnerable lyrics are made all the more striking by the catchy melodies that Troy sculpts. Troy’s signature ‘lover-boy’ indie style is the beating heart of this release. Originally from London, Troy relocated to the coastal town of Plymouth, bringing with him a rich musical heritage. With influences such as Tom Misch, Dominic Fyke, Steve Lacey and alt-R&B legend Daniel Caesar, Troy Javelona’s sound is an effortless fusion of alt-R&B, pop and rock elements. Working from his bedroom studio, Tory Javelona writes, records and produces all his own music; an incredible feat when you hear the utter quality of his sound. Describing the process, Troy describes,
“Creating this EP from my bedroom has allowed me to authentically explore my experiences and emotions. The bedroom is my safe space where I can truly be myself.”
