Re:O is a Japanese / British 3 piece alternative band based in London, and was founded in 2020 by singer and multi-instrumentalist Rio in Tokyo, Japan.
She started learning making and producing music by herself and released ‘Sorrow’s Silhouette’ and ‘GUILD’ which contain dark vibes with ambient reverb guitar.
Re:O eventually travelled to the UK where she met Mark (Drums) and Lukus (Bass) in 2022.
Since then the band have been blending J-pop with alternative rock and dark, ambient themes to create something truly unique.
‘GUILD’ begins with dark but smooth melodic beats from Re:O and then we are further captivated by Rio’s vocals.
The song progresses with catchy instrumental hooks that perfectly compliment Rio’s powerful and haunting voice.
Her music has a resemblance to Grimes blending with The Cure but also has some heavy music elements such as alternative rock and emo that had an influence on her life.
All the lyrics are dark and emotional coming from her having a hard life with Japanese society.
