- You’ve had a great year so far with the release of ‘Plastic’. How has it been received so far?
- It has been so exciting! The support I am getting at home in Ireland by the national radio stations has been crazy. I didn’t expect it to be honest. I couldn’t be happier and I can’t wait to release more this year!
- What was your writing process?
- For ‘Plastic‘, I was drawing and scribbling on my notebook and I wrote the word ‘Plastic’ out of the blue and then I thought of the whole chorus all at once. The rest came easily after that!
- Can you tell us the lyrical motivation behind the single?
- The song is about people being fake or pretending to be something they’re not.
- Is there any music you’re listening to at the moment that you drew inspiration from?
- I can’t remember really because I wrote ‘Plastic‘ a few months ago, but I am loving Aurora at the moment. I always get inspiration from Lana Del Rey.
- You’ve often cited jazz as a passion of yours – what first got you into this?
- I used to watch old 1950’s movies and I listened to the soundtracks, particularly Marilyn Monroe films. I love most of the songs from Gentleman Prefer Blondes. I still listen to them and sing them all the time!

- You’ve got a great few months of festivals coming up. You must be eager to get started with those dates?
- Yes, I am very excited for this summer! I’m going to a lot of places I’ve never been to before and also coming back to some really cool festivals I played last year. Can’t wait, to be honest.
- Are there any places or festivals that you’re most looking forward to playing?
- I’m looking forward to all of them! I’m playing Field Day, which I’m so excited about, The Great Escape, Secret Garden, Bushstock and loads more I can’t say yet. Excited to be doing them all!
- Who are you most excited to be on the same bill as?
- I am seeing Rag N’Bone Man on a lot of the festival line up’s I am doing so I’ll hopefully be able to catch a set from him!
- What are your plans for the rest of 2017? Have you got any more releases coming up this year?
- For 2017 I am touring/playing festivals and always writing new stuff! Yes, I am releasing The Pretty Boy EP soon! With 3 new tracks and a new mix of ‘Plastic‘!
