LA native Nico Savaro addresses severe loss with new single ‘Ghosted.’ The single features Melodic Rapper, SoLonely, and chases after that feeling we’ve all experienced (especially with the pandemic) of severe unrest. The unknown is scary, and Savaro approaches it with an assured single that confronts these tense moments. Mental health is something that surrounds “the Savaro sound.” No matter what song or moment is being captured in the music, the constant centerpiece is Nico grappling with mental health. Whether that’s something he personally has experienced or something he’s outwardly witnessed and tells through his hyper-obsessive lens, Nico strives to always battle with those moments through music. ‘Ghosted’ is a single about what it would feel like if one day you came home and your partner was completely gone. Every remnant from their life with you, gone. When asked about the song’s creation, Savaro said, “It’s a terrible feeling I think no one should have to go through. When you’re in a relationship you expect to have the emotional maturity to at least communicate the reasons why you’re leaving. However, because of my own personal mental health struggles, I understand that often if someone is ghosting you it’s because they don’t have the mental capacity to properly address the situation. This naturally pushes the song’s desperate plead for closure and its metaphor, the widely adopted belief that when someone dies prematurely or their life is still unresolved, they linger around as ghosts, looking for the answers they need to move on.”
SoLonely joins the song to add his unique flavor. An accomplished and young Swedish rapper who lost his mother in 2018, SoLonely used music as his way to cope with the tremendous hole left in his life. Knowing this, Savaro enlisted SL’s help to tell the narrative. Additionally, Savaro says, “I thought the artist SoLonely would be a great fit because his sound matches the vibe of the track and coincidentally his actual artist name also matches the lyrics of the song.”
