A new live session from RMTV with The View’s Kyle Falconer

Riverside Music TV has released its latest live session, bringing Dundee indie hero Kyle Falconer into the studio for an exclusive interview and performance of two tracks, ‘Stessball’ and ‘Laura’, from his 2021 album No Love Songs For Laura. Known for his raw and personal songwriting, The View’s frontman gives his all to the performance, showcasing what has made him such an exciting songwriter over the years.

In the interview, Falconer reflects on the early days of The View, feeling the pressure to write about the rock n roll lifestyle and finding his way in the industry. He shares an insight into the album and the emotional moments behind the scenes for such a vulnerable and true-to-life project.

“It’s about two characters who are meant to be me and Laura”, Kyle explains. “We tried to read it out as ‘Kyle’ and ‘Laura’, but it was too close to the bone. I remember having to leave the room, we had to tone it down as it was just too heavy. You have to see it. It’s probably one of the proudest things I’ve ever done.”

Riverside Music TV is a Glasgow-based platform taking its industry-leading production down new avenues. RMTV continues to gain renown for highlighting established and emerging talent across Scotland, and Falconer is the latest to join a fantastic line-up of performers.

With RMTV, fans and music enthusiasts can enjoy exclusive access to artist interviews, sessions, and competitions, helping to deepen the connection between audience and musician.
