Propelling her work into an ethereal realm, ævina is setting out music under the guise of The Ukulelian, an interstellar bard that is shrouded in mystery with a shard of familiarity and uniqueness.
In her first major release since the single dropped in 2021, ævina has shared a bewitching and haunting new video for her single ‘daily dose of danger’. Sonically, ævina strikes a middle ground between unparalleled beauty and unsettling tones. The lo-fi provocations see the artist bring metallic melodies alongside the simplicity of her ukulele. The vocal harmony was arranged and performed alongside ævina’s ‘Satellite Sister’, Ari Inez, adding a delicate sparkle.
The music video aims to challenge concepts of time, its visuals depict the Ukulelian, a character of ævina’s own creation a spiritual sign of gracious imperfection and experimental works. The character’s birth sparks a new era for ævina, set to be the most definitive of her music to date.
The artist shares a comment on the inspiration for her unveiling her music, “Faced with my own mortality, I realised the only thing I would regret were I to pass away would be not giving my music a chance to be heard. I knew an audience for my music existed, all that was left to do was record, release, and get my songs in front of them.”
