Label SYS Sister Sounds (SSS) releases all Asian female and non-binary compilation ‘Unity,’ with all proceeds going to Palestine charity PARA Foundation.
The compilation houses production from 7 Asian music producers from all around the world including Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Netherlands, Thailand and Canada, Uniting together to release a compilation that binds Asian diaspora together for a good cause.
With heartfelt storytelling and compelling sonic productions, genres include, dance, electronic, house, hip hop and ambient from producers Maggie Tra, nabii, Zeadala, masheen, ephemeral objects, DWAMS featuring earthangelbaby and Ambu Bambu.
On the compilation, SSS founder Maggie Tra said, “As Asian artists’ today, we feel so helpless with what’s going on. Music is what we know, so we wanted to connect together and release something that could go towards helping the people in need,”
“I feel so grateful to have these producers jump on board on this, this is what SSS is all about, and that’s the beauty of uniting together. We want to send a message of hope and togetherness,” she said.
This is the second compilation released by SSS, with the first compilation ‘Grounded’ released in 2023. SYS Sister Sounds Label is run by Maggie Tra and aims to release music from Asian women and NB people around the world.
The label has emerged as a trusted discovery platform, which promotes curiosity, diversity, inclusivity and connection. Profits from the compilation will go towards charity PARA Foundation, an organisation based in Australia. Palestine Australia Relief and Action (PARA) helps Palestinian migrants and refugees live safe, happy, and fulfilling lives in Australia.
