Angel Murray makes fiery debut with ‘Somewhere Else/Angels’

Angel Murray, London born and raised newcomer has unveiled her debut pair of singles ‘Somewhere Else’ and ‘Angels’. The artist takes inspiration from pop icons but aims to add an extra layer of emotional depth to the vibrant rhythms. Pursuing vulnerability and intimate storytelling, the artist is hopeful for a flourishing career.

‘Somewhere Else’, the first of the two tracks, seeks out a dark and misty emotional palace. The plucky, reverberant instrumentation is corrupted by rattling percussion production and a powerful bass line. As climaxes rise from the ashes, the single gains a sultry lacing, a heavenly shadow cast down.

The second piece is ‘Angels’, leaning further into a pop brightness with the same dark ethereality now channelled into a more vibrant, picturesque state. Instruments roar with glamorous energy, supporting Angel in her journey to the stars, her vocals performed with a transcendent spell, bewitching listers into a powerful, slightly gritty, but wholly unique, musical soundscape.

Angel shares, “Each song I write is an experience that I intend to share with my listeners. Every single lyric is drawn from an emotion, to portray a universal feeling…regardless of how personal I get with my songs, it still pans out to be incredibly relatable which I think is really amazing. It’s that skill, that passion that goes into my songs which when I put them out, will always be open to interpretation; yes it stems from my story but that doesn’t and shouldn’t ever mean that it can’t reflect someone else’s, and I love that about my music.”
