Lánre (born Olánrewaju Keyede, December 16, 1992) began his music career at age 10 in his hometown of Plainfield, New Jersey where he attended a school for music and was classically trained in vocal performance. He then went on to discover his songwriting talent and released a 6-track demo at age 15 under the tutelage of his cousin and mentor, Mike Will Made-it. Today, Lánre continues to go against the grain of his peers by writing songs with catchy heartfelt melodies set to a masterful blend of RnB, Electronic Dance, and Pop music.
Produced by Atlanta Trap Music producer TrapKitty Beats, Lánre’s ‘Ready 4 Luv‘ will set the bar for the new decade of pop summer anthems with its infectious hooks set to a mix of EDM & trap music undertones.
Everyone is so afraid of saying ‘I’m single’ now like it’s something to be ashamed of. With ‘Ready 4 Luv’ Lánre wanted to break away from that in a bold way by saying, ‘Look at me! I’m single, ready to fall in love, and I want the whole world to know.’
If you feel a little nostalgic when listening, it’s because Lánre drew inspiration from one of his biggest influences, Whitney Houston.
“Every time I hear I Wanna Dance With Somebody, I smile and start dancing. And that’s how I wrote Ready 4 Luv. I wanted to make a pop song with a fresh take on love that also made people feel really happy.”
Lánre started singing & performing in the early 2000s, which he considers to be the golden age of pop music. All of his inspirations: Usher, Beyoncé, Justin Timberlake, and Chris Brown were doing so many different things with the genre back then that their songs were more than just ‘top 40’ hits, it was art.
For that reason, pop music is more than just a genre to the singer / songwriter. In the single ‘Ready 4 Luv’ he sings: “I just wanna feel something…” – and that feeling is hope, something the world needs right now more than ever.
It’s euphoric, anthemic and represents an epiphany moment and we cannot wait to see the next instalment in this journey.
