Brighton indie-rock trio bacci pouch has been electrifying the stages of Brighton since their formation. Headlining their own shows and opening for the likes of The Dream Machine, The Skinner Brothers, and Aerial Salad, the band have already established themselves as local heroes, and are set to gain more traction with their third single release ‘Normal People’.
‘Normal People’ brings together a reflective and intricate bass line with unbridled distorted guitar tones. The top-line vocals dance along this foundation with an indie pop beam, harnessing the punk-tinged undertones and making them less dirty and a little more shiny.
Already a fan favourite when performed live, its infectiousness translates to the studio wonderfully. Bouncy, infectious but with just enough grit to satisfy a hankering for alt-rock.
Vocalist James Neighbour explains the track, “‘Normal People’ describes the encounter of two people struggling with everyday life, feeling disconnected from society and not ‘normal.’ Through finding common ground, they realise that they need each other to live out a fantasy of normalcy. It’s a statement on feeling alien within the patterns of everyday life, but at its core, it’s about finding that one special person who makes you feel understood.”
