Dublin hip-hop riser Beano has become a staple of the emerging scene, performing alongside Fliptrix and Verb T, receiving tastemaker acclaim and selling out shows across the country.
Released via Outstraight Records, his latest project Trap #7 sets out intention for 2025, showcasing his talent and featuring Panda Drey, Donkobz, the aforementioned Verb T and production from No Venom.
Across the seven-track, he plays on the old-school foundations of hip-hop, the beat backdrop bringing a gut-wrenching darkness that feels assertive and brutal.
Vicious moments are paired with a laid-back, more relaxed delivery. The expansive set of production design and Beano’s ability to cut it on every underlying tone shows his versatility, but he weaves in a consistent and impressive sense of self. It’s eclectic, but always cohesive, always Beano. A seriously impressive project to lead into 2025.
Beano comments on the project, “This is a project that came together very organically for me, the synergy working with No Venom (sole producer of the EP) was something that I hadn’t experienced before and it was a journey in and of itself. When I initially started working with No Venom, it was due to the fact he had bought a feature from me, this progressed into him remixing two tracks of mine…and before I knew it, I pivoted a couple of tracks that I had initially written for other beats and productions to No Venom.”
