Fresh talent emerging from London’s world-renowned music scene, Becca James, creates alternative pop with cinematic scaling. Blending her understanding of soul, folk and electronica alongside a career-long non-stop collaboration, the artist has received widespread industry praise and features on Spotify editorials, BBC Introducing and Netflix series.
In 2025, Becca is set to take her biggest step forward so far, unveiling an ambitious new album that will reflect on her personal and artistic journey. The first treat from this project is ‘God In Chains,’ an angelic teaser single to begin a new era.
From euphoric beginnings, Becca continues to take you higher with this three-minute emotional exodus. Soft pianos underpin reverberating vocals and sparkling synth design.
When they arrive, the impact of the drums is colossal, pounding down on the listener. Vocals soar, melodies build, and Becca is at the centre of it all, controlling the momentous, soulful ecstasy.
Taking a dive into the single’s place within the upcoming album, Becca explains, “God in Chains is an initiation song that fully immerses the listener with the album’s recurrent theme of death, rebirth and transformation. The single highlights humanity’s crossroads, urging us to reconnect with vulnerability and choose healing amid chaos… One of the most memorable moments of making the record was bringing together beloved friends, all of whom are incredible artists and writers themselves, whom I am blessed to have lent their talents to record the choir section you can hear at the end of the track.”
