Asian American singer Tadashi‘s upcoming EP, ‘Hedonism’, is a hyperpop-infused project that reflects his spontaneous, live-in-the-moment attitude. Featuring tracks like ‘Crash’, which blends Japanese and English lyrics and boasts the bilingual factor of his music, the EP was inspired by a trip to Japan and Tadashi’s desire to create something bold for the Asian-American community. A fan of 88rising, Tadashi aims to inspire other Asian-American artists by showing them they can follow their dreams too. Hedonism was recorded impulsively, with Tadashi pouring everything into the project—ignoring school commitments and spending all his money to make it happen. The result is an EP full of energy, fun, and unapologetic self-expression.

Tadashi, the musical alias of 21-year-old Japanese-American artist Dieter Frank, is an emerging hyperpop artist who is based in the thriving creative hub of New York. His diverse sound spans from melodic hip-hop to acoustic pop and hyperpop which is what makes him stand out amidst the dence NY industry. Tadashi’s deeply personal lyrics drawing on introspective themes have garnered deserved attention, with Pop Passion Blog praising his ability to create “quality music written from personal experiences.” Having played piano since the age of four, music has always been central to Tadashi’s life and he has developed his rich musical palette from childhood. It was during college that he began producing his own tracks, receiving positive local feedback on his early demos. Blending raw vocals and honest lyricism in both Japanese and English, Tadashi’s music reached new heights in 2023, gaining radio play in both the UK and USA. In 2024, he began performing his first live shows at venues in Tokyo, aiming to carve out a path for Asian American artists in the global music scene.
