Bones Ate Arfa crash through new single ‘Mushroom’

Bones Ate Arfa is made up, of Bone on guitar, 8 on drums and frontman Arfa on vocals and bass. The three-piece has garnered a reputation for gritty sounds and dynamic performances, earning acclaim both from music media and on their social media channels. Headed on a UK tour this August alongside the release of their debut EP.

The final teaser for this exciting new era of Bones Ate Arfa is ‘Mushroom’. Filled with intricate, energised guitar parts that fire out distortion into the atmosphere, their punk-edged attitude is put on full show, vocal performances shattering the soundscape with raw delivery and combative lyricism. Mighty, melodic and utterly unapologetic it’s a pure representation of the uniqueness Bones Ate Arfa bring to the table.

The trio explain the new single, “Mushroom is our final single before the release of the Akimbo People EP. It’s about moving on from relationships, long-standing arguments and just awkward situations altogether. It pinpoints a lot of the anxiety around the process of moving on and getting over said experiences, as sometimes they never fully feel like they go away, but sit there like a tattoo on your character.

The song grooves and flows quite uniquely to anything we’ve put out before with melodically ambiguous riffs and dangerously bouncy drums reminiscent of early Tigercub and Gorillaz.” Says Arfa (lead Vox & bass)

Bones (guitarist) also had something to say at the end of the song, “All I needed was a snack!”
