With a huge rally of support backing them as they rise the ranks of popularity, Bones Ate Arfa, the alt-rock trio from Brighton, seem to be unstoppable in their pursuit of musical prowess. They’ve been recognised by Fred Durst, Muse, SOFT PLAY and Royal Blood, as well as a slew of the music press, not a bad roster for a project that’s only been on the radar for a couple of years.

The latest slice of psychedelic-street-punk-desert-rock, as they self-describe, is the fuzzy ‘Vineyard’. The three-piece brings raw vocals, compelling guitar tones and an all-round head bobbing groove. It’s a melting pot of a huge range of rock, with experimental flickers matching addictive grooves and the occasional screech.

It tees up their next EP Just Bananas, set for release in April. The band seem to get more interesting with every release, so no doubt the next project will follow suit.

Arfa explains, “Vineyard is about self sabotage, it’s about feeling like you’re at the bottom of a deep pit and the only thing you can think to do is to dig down further. The writing and production style was massively influenced by indie bands like Wunderhorse, Fontaines D.C but we still kept our usual guitar tones and vocal FX reminiscent of Queens of the Stone Age, early Tame Impala and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard.”
