Last Friday, rising country star Bailey James made her first foray into rock ‘n’ roll with the release of ‘Bitter.’ The guitar-driven breakup anthem features the vocal talents of rocker Mia Morris. James and Morris have performed together on several occasions, the most recent being at the Song Suffragettes writers round in Nashville last week. Bailey is also a member of Rising Country Artists The Highway Women.
The duo wrote ‘Bitter’ with Kelli Johnson, who also co-wrote James’ ‘I Feel a Sin.’ The lyrics tell the story of a narrator fed up with a sharp-tongued, toxic lover. Between James’ powerhouse delivery and Morris’ soaring harmonies, this track just oozes emotion.
With fourteen singles under her belt at the age of 18, James is quickly making a name for herself. Her band the Highway Women will be releasing their single ‘Dead Man Walking’ next week.
