Releasing an excitable string of acclaimed singles throughout 2024. Bungalow Collect return with the release of their third studio album ‘Disco Rap Saved Me’ as they round off an impressive 2024. Their first full-length effort since 2022, the group’s distinctive disco-rap fusion is once again proven to be the show stopper.
Right from the offset, it’s clear that this album is as creatively distinctive as it is rapturous. As soon as the funk-guitar of ‘Take Me Away’ paves the way for the group’s silky flow, the album is off and running, taking you on its dance-filled journey. Deep basslines bring an excitable sense of fun to the record, extrapolated by its forward-thinking ‘live for the moment’ hedonisms. The record comes brimming with a vintage-tinged nostalgic glow, leaving it with a homely, warm aftertaste. Despite being made up of just seven tracks, ‘Disco Rap Saved Me’ is a vivid body of work, set to bring Bungalow Collect to more ears than ever before.
Speaking about the process of making the album, the band explain, “We wrote this album over two years while travelling the world and performing in various cities. Our intention was to bring back the disco while introducing unique flows and ad-libs tracks that reflect a modern flare.
You Know I Know was created from scratch during a six-hour session in Hamburg, Germany, while Back it Up was recorded in Paris, France a few days earlier. We created Normalized in New York, while the other 4 songs were started in our LA living room.”
