Casey Carmichael’s candid cover of Clapton’s ‘Change The World’

Casey Carmichael provides optimistic, family-driven and emotionally stirring melodies in all of his music. The skilled guitarist and Berklee graduate has seen his roots develop over a long musical career, transforming genres before residing into a gentle four-chords folk structure that allows his poetry to flourish.

The South Carolina singer-songwriter’s latest track is a cover of Eric Clapton’s ‘Change The World’, brought forth once again with a Carmichael sense of acceptance and peace.

Opening with a rhythmic and full acoustic guitar sound, as well as a reverberating electric lick, the vocals show Casey paying homage to his influences, drawing the lines between his style and Clapton’s whilst giving audiences a unique take on this classic.

Speaking on the track’s personal meaning, Casey adds, “Change the World is one of my favourite songs because of how beautifully it describes one’s desire to give the world to the one he loves, a message that resonates with me personally. After enjoying the Eric Clapton version for years, I was inspired to make my own.”
