Fiery South Coast punks CHUB are back with a vengeance, gearing up to drop their latest single, ‘Microwave Dave,’ on April the 10th. Known for their beer-soaked, high-octane anthems, CHUB has been steadily carving a name for themselves in the UK punk and metal scene, and this new release is set to be yet another milestone in their chaotic rise.
Formed in 2019 in the unlikely punk breeding ground of Eastbourne, CHUB’s blistering sound is the product of deep-rooted friendships, and a musical upbringing shaped by things such as legendary Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater soundtracks. The band-comprising Ben (vocals), Kyle (drums), Greg (guitar, vocals), and Zakk (bass, vocals)- has rapidly gained a reputation for their electrifying performances and rowdy energy, making waves in the UK’s underground music scene.
After making their festival debut at Rebellion and selling out shows across Brighton, CHUB’s reputation only grew with the release of a run of singles, including ‘QUIT,’ ‘Beer Bong Song,’ and ‘Carolina Reaper.’ Their multiple shows across the South of England helped to solidify their ever-growing fanbase, but it was their riotous set at Bloodstock Festival that proved they are a force to be reckoned with.
CHUB’s latest single, ‘Microwave Dave,’ pays homage to a mysterious regular at their local Wetherspoons- a character whose legend may be as much myth as reality. The song has already become a staple of their live sets, a track that never fails to send crowds into a frenzy.
“Dave is near and dear to our hearts- it ends every single one of our shows, and no matter how hard the crowd went throughout the night, they always find energy to go absolutely feral for it,” the band shares. “It’s gritty and thrashy, a commentary on British drinking culture and life in general, and tongue-in-cheek enough to keep things light-hearted and playful. Rest in peace, Dave!”
With ‘Microwave Dave’ ready to drop, CHUB has no plans of slowing down. More singles, music videos, and a national tour are all lined up for 2025, cementing their place as one of the UK’s most exciting new punk acts.
Get ready to raise a pint (or a beer bong) to ‘Microwave Dave’-out everywhere on April 10, 2025.
