Swiss singer songwriter, Claudia Balla has unleashed her newest album ‘Winter Tale’, a unique blend of European folk and classical music. The album features intricate harp music and a 24-voice female choir conducted by Zoltan Pad. The end result creates a breathtaking soundscape that evokes the sparkling snows of winter. Balla’s crystal-clear vocals soar over the choir’s angelic harmonies on an album themed by the different aspects of the word love.
The album was recorded in Budapest, Hungary under the supervision of the talented Andras Bolyki. One standout track is “Drive,” an emotionally haunting piece about escaping the difficulties of a relationship or situation. Balla’s personal favourite is ‘White Bird’ where she sings of the elusiveness of love.
Claudia Balla is a fascinating individual with an expansive set of musical experiences—and her experience does not end with the arts. Balla also attended medical school, and her intimate knowledge of mental health awareness is
incredibly telling and makes her music even more relatable to the listener.
In a world of mass produced music, Winter Tale is a refreshing reprieve and a beautifully crafted, elegant collection of songs. Listen to the album today, now streaming everywhere.
