Stockholm based producer and multi-instrumentalist Danny George has returned with his latest single ‘We’re Young’, a nostalgic jam which evokes memories of late-night road trips with friends and misspent youth, with Danny’s love of 80s synth pop providing the sonic inspiration for a seriously cold and soulful slice of dream pop. Written in an Uber on the way home from a DJ set one night, the song encapsulates a feeling of youthful naivety, lust and a suburban monotony that many of us who grew up just outside of the city will relate to. Danny explains:
“I grew up in a small suburban town that’s main attractions were just a few night clubs and a cinema complex. As a teenager, I spent most of my time driving around on road trips, picking up friends from nights out, crashing house parties and anything fun that would keep us distracted from a typically sterile situation.”
Having already found success producing award-winning compositions for other artists (with tracks supported by Wonderland, Dummy and Dork), the British-born musician has now established himself as a solo artist, with a debut EP and a string of critically acclaimed singles under his belt. ‘We’re Young’ is the second cut from his soon to be released second EP ‘Romance In High Definition’ and follows first single ‘Thinking Out Loud’ which was championed by Soundcloud, picking up an impressive four ‘Fresh Pressed’ playlists.
