Christian hard rock band DEEP AS BONES, from Phoenix, Arizona, United States, is turning heads with their latest release, “Shout.” This hard-hitting single explores the hidden consequences of everyday choices while blending intense hard rock energy. Produced by Larry Elyea at Mind’s Eye Digital Recording Studio, the single highlights the band’s collaboration with Elyea. Frontman Rodney Scott Pieres’ deeply personal lyricism adds a unique layer, making “Shout” an impactful tune.
The track’s narrative is amplified in its performance-driven music video, filmed at Painted Tiger Studios in Glendale, AZ. Directed by Gavin Donnelly of Soundphoria Media, the video captures the emotional resonance of “Shout” and showcases the band’s presence.
“We want to inspire the world with our heavy, well-written, and thoughtful music, focusing on the broken and addicted to try and bring some hope—and headbanging!” says frontman Rodney Scott Pieres.
DEEP AS BONES’ story is as powerful as their music. Formed in 2016 within the Arizona State Prison Complex in Florence, the band began as a creative outlet for three inmates—Rodney Scott Pieres, John Fabricius, and Walter Willis—seeking redemption. Writing and rehearsing in the prison’s band room, they completed their self-titled debut album featuring ten emotionally charged tracks.
Upon release, the band continued their journey, working with producer Jay Kereny (Linkin Park) and adding drummer Dan Johnson (formerly of Red and Love and Death). Their debut album was completed in 2020, mixed and mastered by Ralph Patlan (Megadeth).
Now consisting of Rodney Scott Pieres (vocals, guitar), Wayne Rogers (guitar), Tommie Bevardos (drums), and Richard Walstad (bass), the band channels themes of struggle, faith, and renewal. Beyond music, Rodney and his wife lead a nonprofit combating human trafficking.
Their incredible story is documented in Prison Band, a film featured at international festivals. Recently, they performed at the iconic Whisky a Go Go in Hollywood, California, solidifying their place in hard rock.
DEEP AS BONES offers heavy riffs, soul-stirring lyrics, and a message of hope that resonates deeply.
DEEP AS BONES is perfect for fans of (FFO) Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, and Megadeth.
