Diving Horse share whimsical nostalgia in new single ‘Sometimes I Feel Like A Fool’

Hailing from Glasgow, sextet Diving Horse formed in 2022, and have since built a diverse selection of singles within their discography, receiving acclaim from the music press and radio. The band describes themselves as combining artful indie rock with propulsive beats and has a goal to make the audience dance. The band have now embarked on a summer of electrifying performances, alongside the release of new single ‘Sometimes I Feel Like A Fool’.

Bringing a smile-inducing nostalgia to their blend of eighties electronic arpeggios, synth strings and alternative acoustic radiance. There’s an almost tongue-in-cheek self-awareness and -depreciation to Diving Horse’s writing across the single, morphing what could be a melancholic take on one’s flaws and instead looking at being a bit daft as part of life.

With the elegance of vintage influence alongside a fresh alt-rock-pop energy, they can lace true introspective reflection within a cheerful and carefree package, the sound of joyful simplicity from a meticulously crafted arrangement, makes for a wonderful listening experience, that you can genuinely put on repeat.

Sharing some words on the track’s catchy, serenading quality, the six-piece adds, “For this song, we wanted to write a song with a chorus you could sing along to, and ‘Sometimes I Feel Like a Fool’ is what came out. Musically, the song is inspired by the later works of Talking Heads, and lyrically, the song masks feeling like a fool under poppy rhythms. We hoped to tap into a universal feeling we all have and say, ‘Don’t worry about it too much!’
