Music collective DOVE-i bring their desire for non-stop collaboration to their work, masterminded by Thomas Verovski and Bastide Donny, who both bring their own signature styles to the project. The pair now look ahead to their next album ‘It’s Pop Fiction’.
Featuring the acclaimed industry vocalist Mike Harvey, DOVE-i’s new track ‘Default’ is taken directly from ‘It’s Pop Fiction’. The track merges the relaxed, slow and flowing attitude of neo-soul and injects it with moving classical instrumentation that brings string and woodwind melodies that capture the beauty in the themes of the track. This blend creates something that feels straight from a cinematic soundtrack, that still feels accessible enough for day to day listening, and will no doubt excite fans and tastemakers for the new project.
Thomas shares, ”I come from a jazz and classical background as a pianist, with a speciality at the musician Institute in Los Angeles. And I’ve mostly worked on soundtracks of beautiful documentaries for France Television and Arte among others.”
Bastide Donny adding, “I was working on music productions in my home studio and we were spotted by Luc Besson, who is one of the few filmmakers in France who is willing to give work opportunities to young people who have not yet done much. And it was a good fit, One thing leading to another, he offered us the opportunity to produce the score of a second feature-film, a third film, etc.”
