The new EP ‘Goodbye Georgia‘ from Johnny & Jules is a beautifully authentic, homegrown letter to Georgia. The EP rich timbres of that typical folk sound: panned acoustic guitars, slide guitar solos, light tambourine paired with slowly driving snare rim shots – all of which culminate to produce a majestic soundscape of nostalgia & warmth. ‘Goodbye Georgia’ was ingeniously created on a prolonged stay away from the state which led to the lyrical focus of both the EP’s title track and three other tracks. All of the songs on ‘Goodbye Georgia’ were, ‘guided by a journey of change, forgiveness, and learning how to honor one’s true self,’ say Johnny and Jules and, with the help of producers Benji Shanks, Tom Tapley & Miles Landrum, brought these ideas to life in a hit EP guaranteed to impress the ears of any music fan.
Johnny and Jules discovered their musical and songwriting talents later on in life whereby mutual guitars as presents provided inspiration for Jules to begin writing over the next ten years; learning every step of the way as she blossomed as a writer to become the creative force of the duo. Johnny similarly spent the decade mastering the acoustic guitar and perfecting his voice to provide sonically organic harmonies to Jules’ lead vocal. Despite having performed live at a plethora of venues and flaunting a broad catalogue of original music, this is their debut EP which is reflected in the sheer quality and evident time & effort which has gone into formulating the masterpiece that is ‘Goodbye Georgia.’ This duo are bringing the Folk, Singer Songwriter sound into the mainstream and are certainly not one to miss
