Some artists make music you listen to. Ellie Lawson makes music you feel. With her latest singles, “Justify” and “Love Is All I Have to Give”, the South London singer-songwriter isn’t just sharing songs—she’s opening a doorway into something deeper. Featured on her new EP, ‘Through to the Brightness’, these tracks blend lush melodies with raw, heartfelt storytelling, creating a sound that’s both soothing and soul-stirring.
Lawson has never been one to follow a traditional path. Once praised by Ellen DeGeneres as a future star, she’s navigated the ups and downs of the music industry while staying fiercely independent. Now, she’s found her true purpose: using music to uplift, heal, and connect.
Recorded in a historic church studio with Communion Records co-founder Ian Grimble, ‘Through to the Brightness’ carries an almost sacred energy. “Love Is All I Have to Give” is a song about kindness and forgiveness, aligning with the Heart Chakra, the energy center of love. “It’s about giving the best of yourself, even when it’s hard”, Ellie shares. “There’s strength in that kind of vulnerability.”
On the other hand, “Justify” (out on February 28) is all about owning your truth and standing in your power, resonating with the Solar Plexus Chakra—the seat of confidence and purpose. “This song is about courage”, she explains. “It’s about believing in yourself, no matter what.”
What makes Ellie’s latest project even more unique? She’s not just releasing an EP; she’s also created seven guided meditations, each designed to balance the body’s energy systems. Paired with instrumental versions of her songs, these meditations blend music, affirmations, and spoken word to create a truly transformative listening experience.
“I want to help people tune into their energy, raise their vibration, and live a more aligned life”, she says. It’s a mission that extends beyond music—Ellie is also a passionate mental health advocate, inspired by her own experiences as a carer.
