Los-Angeles music visionary and creative activist ERIEL INDIGO, is quickly gaining a reputation for her immersive performances and distinctly unique approach to audiovisual experiences. Releasing powerful anthems she aims to drive change and challenge societal norms through her blend of hip-hop, punk, EDM and alt-pop.
The artist debuted in 2014 with her single ‘INNOCENCE’ which saw plenty of press acclaim. By 2018, the artist had formed a collaborative project called WHYT RBBT with West Coast bass producer An-Ten-Nae. The success of singles from this project saw them embark on a tour in 2019. Now ERIEL looks ahead to the release of her new album ‘Angels & Aliens’
ERIEL INDIGO is back with a single that inspires you to take charge, ‘Rebel Bell’. Opening with a robotic synth melody crossed with plucky counter, the instrumentation is then laced in a screaming distortion, setting the scene with a rebellious atmosphere. Electronic sound design is impressive throughout the song, with rattly drums and wobbly bass hitting you hard. Vocally, ERIEL’s eerie, controlled harmonies are hauntingly powerful, with the main vocal line being performed like a rousing speech. Overall, the new direction for ERIEL INDIGO is nothing short of pioneering, championing her own individuality with a gritty personality.
ERIEL shares, “I believe that it’s essential that unifying music be propped up and that more artists who address difficult issues are given a platform for our messages to be shared with a society struggling to process and reunify. The arts have always been an important arena for confronting who we are, asking important questions, and sharing powerful ideas. This rings true to me now more than ever. Music connects culture, creativity, and open dialogue. With this song, I am starting, albeit in a playful way, what I consider to be an important discussion and I’m excited for listeners to accept my invitation, regardless of what reaction it might provoke in their hearts.”
