It’s been nine years since the release of Fever Ray, the self-titled debut solo album from Karin Dreijer of The Knife. In those years she has been characteristically quiet, aside from the release of Shaking The Habitual. Many have yearned for a return of Fever Ray, which was never promised but always seemed like a distinct possibility.
Finally, last week, some teaser videos started coming out of the Fever Ray camp, followed by the release of new single ‘To The Moon And Back‘. The new song is more tropical and energetic than most of the songs on Fever Ray, but still maintains that intricate electronic interplay, with plenty of skittering percussion and Dreijer’s unsettling and unmistakable voice. ‘To The Moon And Back‘ comes with an horror-inflected visually intriguing video, in line with the teasers put out previously.
