Aliyah Danielle is a dynamic artist with a unique approach that can be summed up in one word: unconventional. The winding roads of Aliyah’s diverse interests and experiences converge to form the heart of her creations, which seek to tell stories through sound and blend genres to create new, interesting sonic textures. A collaborator at heart, Aliyah’s mission is to use her art to pose questions and start conversations surrounding issues embedded in our world’s cultural and social systems, allowing us to better understand others and their belief systems. In her own words, “I love to make music that tells stories about who we are and what makes us tick, and I like to do so through combining unexpected sounds, blending genres, and creating new sonic textures.
Her debut album ‘GENESIS’ is inspired by true life-changing events that allowed Aliyah to examine her authenticity, with music focusing on the themes of uncertainty, anxiety, depression, healing, growth, and acceptance. The album was recorded during my time studying for my Master’s degree at Berklee College of Music in Valencia, Spain, and features performers from all over the world including Nipun Bhatnagar, Isaac Wisdom, Christian Dias, Kyle Langlois, Christian Sessoms and Daniel de Boer. The album is currently under a staggered release with the first two parts available to stream on all major streaming platforms. The full album will be available everywhere on July 23, 2023.
