Supporting by BBC Introducing, and recently playing his 1000th show at Colchester Arts Centre, Fraser Morgan is a folk-punk artist whose music evokes beautiful chaos. Blending genres some would see as at odds, the artist is established as a rising star, looking ahead to his EP I Hope You Can’t Relate, produced by Joel Scrimshaw and mastered by Black Cactus.
The project is teased by the new single ‘Ruminating’, a heartbreakingly honest track about a circle of panic and anxiety, trying to break out from the constant pain only to be drawn back in. The authenticity of delivering a track about overthinking is enough of an attention-grabber in itself, but Fraser’s performance adds another layer of honesty, making his acoustic instrumentation fierce but vulnerable, something echoed in his vocal performance.
Fraser explains the cycle of self-sabotage that inspired the track, “‘Ruminating’ was born from late nights and quiet moments. It’s about those endless cycles of thought we can’t escape from—something I feel everyone goes through but never quite talks about.”
