Géza Korb is a solo artist working under the name Rock Band For Old Men. As you may have guessed from that band name, everything that Korb creates is doused in irony, but that only adds to its replayability. The defeated lament of his debut song needs no more introduction than its title, ‘Eat Some Snacks & Cry’, but Korb has noted in the information for the track that it’s a “Sad song about getting yourself together after breaking up.”
The video for ‘Eat Some Snacks & Cry‘ is just as confounding as the accompanying track, being as it’s extremely low-budget, nonsensical, gaudy – and yet completely brilliant. Redolent of Tim & Eric’s Awesome Show, Great Job, through the video we get to know a lot more about the face behind Rock Band For Old Men, and understand on a deeper level just how busted his poor little heart is.
Korb also makes pleas for you to buy the track: “Buy this song pls i need money to record my debut album.” It’s only £1 from his Bandcamp, and if it means that he’ll get to record more of this kind of lovable pop then we’re all for it.
