Debuting in 2019, GINGE has steadily set herself apart from the crowd, meticulously crafting a genre-bending, but personal and honest that fans can’t help but adore. Performing at the likes of ESNS, The Great Wide Open and MS Dockville, featuring on a slew of radio stations and recently making the jump into multiple Spotify editorial slots, there’s no doubt GINGE is more than ready to conquer the industry with her debut album Playing Around.

Filled with nostalgia and modernity, and built on a sonically generous blend of lo-fi jazz neo-soul and twinkling ethereal pop, GINGE’s silky uniqueness is delivered in spades. Embracing the vibrance of auditory colour, the production is filled with quirky elements, but the unfiltered feel just adds new layers of enticement.

GINGE shares, “Making this album has really been a playground in itself. It feels like I combined all my previously released music into one poppy neo-soul bubble with some RnB as well. It has become a playful yet intimate exploration of any type of love and attachment. I used to make it all so heavy and now I just try to make it a bit lighter, fun and whimsical.”

Showing off the full range of her songwriting expertise, introducing heaps of instrumentation, and knowing exactly when to go electronic and when to get a more natural feel involved, everything from the off-the-wall to the smooth e-piano to the flowing brass chords is carefully selected. Infectious from the get-go the thirteen track sways through observations of romance and life, GINGE’s wistful, but playful nature a fantastic balance for a future icon.
