Good Time Locomotive’s latest single, ‘Stay Close,’ follows the (almost) self-titled indie-rock banger GTR but shows further strings to the band’s bow. ‘Stay Close’ is a ballad exploring themes of internal battles, timely dropped in line with Movember, in which some supporting charities support men’s mental health causes. That said, this track is targeted at everybody, with the boys having a clever ear for writing tracks with universal appeal.
Speaking about the single, the band comment, “We have all had our fair share of dark moments in this band and this song seemed to sum up both the struggle of those dark moments along with the fact that none of us are an island and that we all need each other to get through the worst times in life”
Featuring rapper Barfly, the fivesome have arguably put together their best single yet, even amongst the five other showstoppers released in 2024.
After forming in 2020, the band became known for their funk-pop prowess, which came to the fore unbelievably over Zoom during the COVID-19 pandemic. Versatile, gifted, and ever raising the bar, we can’t wait to hear what Good Time Locomotive has in store for us next.
