Hailing from Washington DC, Han Gan are back with their unparalleled alternative spirit as they unveils their latest single ‘Bird of Burden’. Their first release since 2024’s ‘Pull The Pin’, the outfit returns to centre stage once again.
Pushing out of the speakers with an alluring percussion, the single soon brings its alt-rock backbone to the limelight. Mixing no-holds-barred lyricism with cutting guitar lines, the single stands its ground as an emphatic slice of modern rock-n-roll. Han Gan draws on the likes of Fugazi and Rage Against The Machine to produce their hard-hitting, unmistakably alternative sound, though not forgetting to leave out their unique stamp. The release additionally features two bonus tracks, a remastered version of ‘Soul’s Fire Escape’ and an instrumental remix of their single ‘The Sound’.
Commenting on the release of the new single, the band dive in for comment: “Bird of Burden began as a simple song idea years ago and gradually evolved through three distinct movements, becoming something entirely unexpected. The turmoil in Washington has felt like stepping into an abyss, but we hold on to our faith in the collective. Each of us carries our own burdens—like the Mariner and the albatross.”
