Providing the latest glimpse into the upcoming EP Motel FM, Liverpool’s rising indie outfit Honey Motel are unveiling their latest single ‘…Try Not To Worry, Babe’, graceful in its melancholic intimacy. Known for genre-spanning and emotive songwriting, the four-piece lean back into their reflections with the track. This has been a theme across the EP teasers so far, pairing heartfelt lyricism with a brighter, shimmering indie polish in the instrumentation, creating a contrast and beckoning you to dive deeper.
This balance of vulnerability and vitality is brimming with radiant guitar textures, charming vocal performances and a grooving rhythm section; the result is beautifully enduring and bittersweet.
Freddie of Honey Motel adds, “‘Try Not to Worry, Babe’ to me is if the Fallout video games were a surf rock-inspired song. We wrote about what it would really look like if the world fell apart, not in a movie, in real life. Little details like the weatherman breaking down on live TV as the facade crumbles, and ultimately, everyone embracing the end. (And I got to make a plane noise with Sam’s guitar in the studio, which I am very proud of)”
Formed from a teenage friendship to a lineup solidified in 2023, Honey Motel have supported The Lottery Winners on their chart-topping KOKO tour, earned placements on Apple Music’s New in Rock, and drawn praise from all your favourite tastemakers. Their high-energy live sets have taken them from Y Not to The Great Escape, never reducing their momentum, but always finding firmer footing.
