Indie pop duo Dady return with dreamy single ‘Dark Mode’

Virginia-hailing duo Dady, who began their journey as frenemies before realising their strong musical bond, have returned with their new indie-pop single ‘Dark Mode’. Guided by catchy guitar lines and shimmering synths, the silky vocals of Rachel Dady offer sweet harmonies alongside the groovy production crafted by Jesse O’Connor.

Speaking about the track, the duo revealed: “‘Dark Mode’ was written and recorded (almost) all in one day during the summer of 2020. With this release, we decided to explore warmer, more organic instrument sounds, a bit of a departure from our early production and beat-heavy tracks. Chalk it up to turning 30 (or all of the Phoebe Bridgers and Soccer Mommy we listened to over the course of the pandemic), but we wanted to take our foot off the gas with Dark Mode. Both vocally and production-wise, it’s an exploration of how less can be more.”

Eluding a warm and ambient sound, ‘Dark Mode’ is a chilled summer anthem which listeners won’t be able to resist. The pair have encapsulated their old-school soundscape, yet with a slightly more organic lean. Complete with authentic lyricism, you’ll want to stick this dreamy new offering on repeat.
