J Carlyle returns with cross-genre new single ‘Intruder Alert’

Quickly becoming an established artist with previous single ‘Forever Girl’ just below the 100,000 stream mark on Spotify, J Carlyle returns with his best work yet. Titled ‘Intruder Alert’, the new single is a clear statement that this artist means business. Already gaining praise from BBC Radio and GRM Daily, the rapper and poet is influenced by a range of styles to create his distinctive sound from the likes of Dancehall, Grime, R&B to even Rock. An alert to check out his music right now, ‘Intruder Alert’ is certainly going to spark ears across the globe.

With his lyrics and ethos heavily influenced by his life outside of music and dealing with mental health issues, he is a passionate support of using music as a support system. Talking more about this, J Carlyle mentions, “I consider myself an advocate for Mental Health because it’s a topic which is extremely close to me. Over the last 10 years I’ve been on both sides of the spectrum from working in one of the largest mental health institutions in the East Midlands, looking after people from all walks of life whose mental health has deemed them a risk to society/or and their own well being. I myself have suffered with mental health issues also. This journey prompted me to work with Channel 4 and local council to create a music programme for the youth. “

An inspiration and someone who can showcase that even if you’ve battled with your mental health, there’s always light at the end of the tunnel.
