Jessie Chung (simplified Chinese: 锺洁希; traditional Chinese: 鍾潔希) is no stranger to breaking boundaries. A transgender Malaysian icon, she is a multifaceted and therapeutic musician, singer, songwriter, MD, actress, author, naturopath, and nutritional consultant. Since her debut album Home in 1998, she has released nine albums, including standouts like Love in You, Tearless Sky, There You Are, and Be Strong. Active across China, Southeast Asia, and Australia, Jessie’s career is as diverse as her talents.
Born in Kuching, Malaysia, to a Hakka family from Dapu, Guangzhou, Jessie grew up immersed in music, achieving grade 8 organ proficiency as a young prodigy. Though she initially set aside her musical dreams to pursue studies and a career in healthcare, she has since reclaimed her passion, delivering works like Dekati that echo both her personal triumphs and universal truths.
