Komanii shares single of liberation ‘HURRA’

Over a year since his last single, London-based rapper and producer Komanii has returned to the scene to make a statement with new track ‘HURRA’. Born in Kenya, but living all over the world before settling in the UK capital, Komanii has been sharing his story through music since 2017. Collaborating with the likes of Ayon Mukherji, Elrim and Troye Raustein, Komanii continues to leave a mark with his work.

Politically-charged, lyrically thoughtful and wasting no time in getting his message across, ‘HURRA’, sees Komanii refuse to stand aside. The title is the Arabic word for free, setting the tone for a high-octane rap track to inspire liberation. With punchy production, smooth bass lines and a clean vocal sample at the centre of the beat, the soulful nature backdrops the first sixty seconds. The final moments switch to a darker, more fierce timbre, with fuzzy synths and glassy top-line melodies forcing your attention.

Komanii summarises the message behind the track, commenting, “From the river to the sea… Black and Brown Liberation is waiting”.
