Ky Bailey brings light to new EP ‘Does Life Get Easier?’

Philadelphia-based singer and songwriter Ky Bailey debuted as an underground hip-hop artist but has steadily shifted his sound to that of an emotive indie-folk rising star. Expanding from his beginnings under K.B. Pablo, Ky Bailey continues to show promise and individuality.

The songwriter’s latest release is the gorgeous new EP Does Life Get Easier?. Posing this melancholic question provides a foundation for rich introspection, Ky finding himself swaying through a broad ethereality, rooted in an acoustic guitar and expanded through reverberating vocals and softly filtered production.

Channelling a melodic freedom that creates space for floating melodies, a maturity in his own emotion that allows him to transcend the raw feelings and understand them more deeply.

Showcasing his potential through a hazy lens, Ky Bailey will no doubt grow as the rise of folk-pop continues to grasp listeners’ attention.

Ky explains the release from his perspective, “Vulnerability, authenticity and peace are the three feelings I embodied on this release. This is by far my most mature release since I started making music, creating a short but incredible timeline of love, loss and life. I took inspiration from Bon Iver whilst wanting to recreate the clean production style of the likes of Taylor Swift and the emotional, laid-back chord progressions of Joji, Gotye and D4vd.”
