Kyros have returned with nostalgia-infused alt-pop anthem ‘Ghosts Of You’. Aside the clear 80s aesthetics of grooving bass lines, glorious synth design and storytelling vocals, Kyros manage to blend their incredible electronic abilities and energised guitar licks in every spare moment. Bouncing drums and intense layers of instrumentation weave together the momentous with the infectious, making the track just as cinematic as it is oozing good pop vibes. A euphoric addition to their recent run of singles.
Lead vocalist, Shelby, speaks on the new single, “This song captures that haunting feeling of chasing the elusive. A theme that carries through a lot of our songs and especially my writing these days. That feeling of seeing remnants of someone or something that once was. The contrast in styles, mashing inspiration from 90s New Jack Swing with progressive rock and big band elements mirrors the feeling of not knowing how to front yourself.”
Alongside the release the band are also announcing their fourth studio album ‘Mannequin’, as well as a slew of 2024 UK tour dates. After garnering acclaim from across music press, touring the US and Europe and opening for the likes of Marillion, Spock’s Beard and IQ, Kyros have continued to infuse their progressive writing with rich, unparalleled musicality. By making the complex feel simple and catchy they have inspired casual and committed fans alike since their emergence in 2016, showing no sings of stopping as they do so.
