LUX the band share the reflective single ‘Infinite Mind’

Founded by New York singer-songwriter Angela Randall and Parisian guitarist and composer Sylvain Laforge, LUX the band has been setting itself apart since their debut in 2017. Releasing multiple albums whilst staying true to a unique and raw analogue sound, the band’s latest major release was the five-track EP Before Night Falls – The Black Box Sessions, featuring some rare covers for the group alongside live versions of some of their most impressive songs. Joined by Julien Boisseau on bass and Amaury Blanchard on drums, the band is looking to make a splash once more in 2024.

Their latest single has now emerged, appearing as the introspective ‘Infinite Mind’, an arrangement filled with technical musicianship and authentic, emotional performances. Opening with a vibrant instrumental section, the track opens a doorway for Angela’s lead vocals to shine through, diving around the classic rock instrumentation with a dynamic tone. Controlling her emotions as she rises to huge climaxes and deeply connecting moments, the band moves forward, each layer intricately playing against another. Wrapped up with a huge final chorus and roaring guitar solo, the track shows itself to be the reflective yet anthemic titan it was ready to be from the first note.

The band shares, “‘Infinite Mind’ was recorded on tape, mixed and mastered as almost all of our songs have been, at Studio Black Box, France with the base tracks all played live. ‘Infinite Mind’ is a straightforward, up-tempo tune with 4 chords in a minor key straight-up rock song with a memorable gimmick and a Laforge trademark solo. But if the chorus is intentionally simple (all the better for those who wish to sing along!) the verses are woven with small fantastical details that take us for a walk through the writer’s infinite mind.

The lyrics seek to capture a moment, to suspend time long enough to look closely at a state of mind where beauty and love reside next to life’s small frustrations as we count down the hours of the day, every day. Contemplating the sentiment of being “on the outside, looking in”. The song ends with the hopeful determination, ‘retreat, toss out the garbage and redefine’. A song for springtime renewal for our infinite mind.”
