In the nine months since the release of his debut album, “Chromatics,” Luxley has been playing around with guitar riffs alongside synth sounds to create something new. Now we are able to get our first glimpse at this experimentation with “Can’t Fool Me.” This single is just the first of Luxley’s upcoming LP which will be out next year.
The first thing one should know about Luxley is that he has chromesthesia, a condition where one links sounds and colours together in the mind. In an interview, he said that the condition “helps me focus on songs that paint the most color. Those songs tend to create the strongest feelings for me, and then end up being published.” In this latest single, we get a glimpse into his mind once again through not only the song itself but by looking at the track’s unique artwork, created by Luxley alongside That Boy Visuals. The image shows Luxley’s glitched face superimposed over a mannequin, which Luxley reports “makes me feel right at home along with my chromesthesia.”
‘Can’t Fool Me’ is a wonderful journey through multiple genres and styles brought together under Luxley’s unique vision. You can stream it now everywhere.
